So i actually use enhanced listen mode quite a bit when i'm searching for stuff, and it's pretty straightforward once you get it set up. First thing you'll want to do is jump into the accessibility settings under navigation and traversal, where you can turn it on and tweak it to scan about 30 meters with a 5-second duration, which i find works really well.
When you're actually playing, just hold down r1 to get into listen mode, and then hit circle whenever you want to send out one of those sonar pulses. It's kind of like having your own personal item detector, which is super helpful for finding supplements and parts that you might otherwise miss. Something interesting i've noticed is that you can actually spam the scan pretty frequently, though you'll only see stuff that's currently accessible – like if something's behind a locked door it won't show up until you can actually get to it.
I usually end up using this a ton when i'm trying to be thorough in an area, since it makes finding collectibles way less frustrating than just running around hoping to spot them naturally. Just remember that holding r1 and tapping circle becomes second nature after a while, so don't worry if it feels a bit awkward at first.

so if you guys have to restart the whole game what are tips that you would give to that new player? ill start. this ones not just applicable in tlou. but usually where theres the storyline points of no return and looting system. my advice is to never be stingy with using consumables and upgrades. ive seen people (me included) hoard stuff and never use it throughout their gameplay. like the game has ended we see the ending and they still have tons of consumables. like come on this aint path of exile

question about resource management. when do you usually guys use your stuff like i could stock a lot of medkits and barely use em. whats that fine line between using stuff and saving them for later vs. straight up hoarding?
